Classroom
Consultation

We work together with teachers and paraprofessionals to identify what research-based techniques will best improve your classroom conditions. Using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methods, our staff will provide ongoing training that will allow you to implement these tools successfully. Our behavioral experts will ensure your team feels confident and supported.

Student Consultation and Assessment

Our staff reviews the needs of each individual student by gathering information from those who interact with the learner regularly. We look directly at the student’s behavior and analyze the “why” behind it. Once we have all of this data, we determine the best course of action. A behavioral specialist can provide ongoing support to the student’s teacher. This method ensures that they receive regular guidance on how to help the student make positive ongoing progress.

Social Strides Testimonials

Social Strides

What real people said about Social Strides.

“ Working with the director and staff at Social Strides has been truly positive.  As a building principal, finding the best service providers for students is of the utmost importance to make sure students’ individual needs are met.  Lori and her team have been nothing but professional, adaptive, and always accessible.  She and her team have been highly effective at communicating with parents, teachers, and me in providing the best services for our students.  They are always available and willing to help everyone understand the why behind what they’re doing so there’s clear understanding by all.  I look forward to keeping the relationships going. ”

“ As a Special Education Director, I have worked with a variety of BCBA’s from Social Strides over the past several years.  The BCBA’s were experienced professionals meeting the behavioral needs of the district’s learners in the elementary, middle and high school settings.  The staff from Social Strides demonstrated excellent communication and collaboration skills.  Their behavioral expertise was a welcomed addition to our district. ”

“ I always learn something new and feel inspired when working with Lori!  She is patient, supportive and gives guidance without being critical.  Lori has also been available any time I have needed her.  This has been especially important to me since things are always changing in my classroom. ”

“ My name is Jodi and I have worked as paraprofessional in the special education sector for a bit over twenty years. As a classroom aide as well as “personal aide” I have worked with a variety of Behavioral Consultants but none better than Lori Sernio with whom I have had the pleasure of collaborating with since 2015. I have found Lori’s approach to be quite effective and can characterize her methods as being: holistic, goals oriented, performance driven and perhaps best of all flexible. It is refreshing that Lori considers closely the inputs and needs of parents, professionals and of course the students. In simple terms Lori listens to all parties involved in the process and takes into consideration potential impacts the developed behavioral plan may produce. Just as important Lori is willing to compromise and adjust when plans need amending without being overly rigid or heavy handed. I have found Lori to be staunchly confident in her methods yet extremely gracious and willing to entertain alternative inputs coming from hands on professionals and parents. I can attest to Lori’s compassion and kindness as she always stresses the importance of keeping students engaged and implementing plans that don’t sour a student or the staff. Perhaps most compelling however are my experiences with students who have been fortunate to be positively changed by Lori’s expertise, talents and passion. At the end of the day we all want to see that smile which comes from growth and success. Thanks to Lori I have had many a day of smiles because her plans simply work. ”
